Top Ten Tips For Perfect Hair
We all know that the weather as well as heat from styling can damage our hair. Celebrity hairdresser and creator of the Sedusa Hair Diffuser, Antony Popadich gives his top ten tips on how to keep your hair in perfect condition.
- Don't overdo it: Your hair needs the natural oils it produces to stay healthy. The more you wash and remove these oils, the harder your hair will fight back and produce even more - leaving you with greasy locks. Try to wash it every other day and if you need a boost try a dry shampoo.
- Do it in halves: When you dry your hair never start while it's dripping wet. Always leave it to at least half dry naturally and then give it a blast with your dryer - on a low setting.
- A cardinal rule: Never ever brush curly hair while you dry. This will only leave it looking frizzy and lacking shine. Use your fingers to separate the curls and scrunch with your palm to encourage hair to stay in place. Or, for salon style curls add the Sedusa Hair Diffuser to your styling kit.
- Keep it in shape. Trimming a centimetre a month will leave hair fuller and less likely to split. As each strand splits it thins the hair making it flat and dull. So a good trim works wonders.
- Do it like a pro: Invest in a professional hairdryer. They work at a higher wattage so will halve the time your hair is exposed to heat - and save you valuable time.
- You are what you eat: Feed your hair a healthy diet. Eat food rich in beta carotene, like carrots, everyday and you'll see an amazing difference to the condition of your hair and nails.
- Less is more: Be sparing with your products. Always read the label and make sure you apply the correct amount for your hair length. You can always add more, but you can't take it off! Keep in mind that thinner hair also needs less than thicker hair.
- How clean is your scalp: Conditioning is important - but not as important as shampooing which is the real dirt buster. A thorough shampoo will ensure hair is clean and ready for your conditioner. This is especially important in the summer as chlorine and sun creams stick to the hair causing damage.
- Make the best of what you've got: Work with your natural shape and avoid excessive straightening, which can cause heat damage. For healthy curls choose the Sedusa Hair Diffuser, which has a unique design to curl even the straightest hair without damaging it.
- And finally… be kind. It's simple enough but works wonders. Try to leave your hair in its natural state for as long as possible. This natural weight distribution means the hair will grow healthier and won't be pulled, pushed and combed in directions it doesn't want to be in.
